William Bruce Kamps Jr., beloved father and husband, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5th at the age of 66. Born in Woodbury, NJ, Bill was a lifelong South Jersey resident, growing up in Cherry Hill, Pitman, and Pennsauken. He served the community proudly for 25 years as a career firefighter for the Cherry Hill Fire Department, and worked another 10 years for Bombardier Inc., managing maintenance for the NJ Transit River Line. 

While he was known certainly by many as an incredible problem solver with a strong work ethic, his most important role was that of husband, father, and grandfather. Bill is survived by his loving wife Catherine (nee Kurtz) Kamps of 42 years, his children William (and Lauren), Christopher (and Sarah), Kathryn, as well as his grandchildren Caraline and Isaac. 

When not spending time with his wife enjoying jazz concerts, going to the shore, or casual drives to new places, Bill could always be found tinkering “out back” and working on various projects, or over at the farm with his good friend, Matt. 

A friend and father to many, and the most dependable man to all. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, Dec. 13th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Fellowship Alliance Chapel, 199 Church Road, Medford, NJ, where a Celebration of his Life will be held at 7:00 PM.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home in Medford, NJ.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family requests memorial donations to Love Without Boundaries Foster Care Program for Uganda, P.O.
