Jean Linda (Barbarotto) Gelardo

Jean Linda (Barbarotto) Gelardo, 61, of Medford, NJ and formerly of Buena, began her final journey on February 2, 2016 surrounded by her family.  She was born on September 20, 1954 to Nicholas and Dora (Ridolfi) Barbarotto.  Jean was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Academy, Drexel University with a BS in Food and Nutrition and Central Michigan University where she received her MA in Business Management and Supervision.  She also held a New Jersey Certified Manager Program Certificate from Rutgers University.  She was a member of the American Dietetic Association and had worked as a Dietician at Newcomb Hospital, Vineland Developmental Center, Trenton State Prison and the New Lisbon Developmental Center where she supervised clinical dieticians.  Jean made the world a better place for all who knew her.  She was loved and respected for the compassion and kindness she afforded everyone.  She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Dr. Mark Gelardo, a son, Nicholas, her mother, Dora Ridolfi Barbarotto of Buena, her sisters; Joyce Soboloski (Kenneth) of Vineland and Joan Woodruff (Peter) of Voorhees,  and her sister-in-law, Doria Shilling of Medford.  She was predeceased by her father, Nicholas Barbarotto, father-in- law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Doris Gelardo and brother-in-law, Stephen Shilling.  Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at the Bradley and Stow Funeral Home at 127 Medford Mount Holly Road, Medford, NJ on Sunday, February 7 from 9am to 12pm, where a Celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 noon.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Jean’s name to one of the following; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Samaritan Hospice in Marlton, NJ, or the South Jersey Food Bank.  (www.BradleyStow.com)
