Joseph A. Corcoran

JOSEPH ALOYSIUS CORCORAN, 87, of Medford Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2015, surrounded by his children: Stephanie Selah, husband Ray; Michelle Forman, husband James; Christine Abrams, husband Raymond; Kevin Corcoran, wife Kathleen; Candice Curtis, husband Glenn; and Shannon Copeland, husband Jared.  He was preceded in death by his brother John Corcoran and sisters Catherine Carey and Dolores Bilocur and grandchild Valerie Harvey.  He was especially proud of his many grandchildren: Nicole Selah, Sarah Agemian, Colleen, Kyle and Alyssa Abrams, Sean Curtis, Joseph Harvey, Desiree, Daniel, David and Matthew Forman, and Michael and Mia Copeland.  Born on July 22, 1928, in Tacony, Philadelphia, PA, he is the son of the late John and Catherine Corcoran.  In his early years while living in Philadelphia, he enjoyed visiting the shore of Wildwood and took yearly vacations there with his family.  He honorably served for two years in the U.S. Army before enrolling at Temple University, where he graduated with a degree in Pharmacy.  He married Rosemary Thayer in 1959.  He enjoyed watching football, reading and traveling all over the United States; however, his real joy was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow.  Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday from 8:30-10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Jackson Road, Medford, NJ, where a Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.  Arrangements are under the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, Medford, NJ.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research, 110 East 42nd Street, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
