So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I was not aware of his illness. Doug and I flew many times together with American Airlines and we enjoyed each others company. He spoke a lot about his family and his substitute teaching and helping with the landscaping business. I never had that much energy. We talked about golf and I even came over to the Medford, NJ area once to play golf with he and his son. I retired from American in 2008 and now live in a golf course community in Pinehurst, NC. I am also 67 years old so this does really hit home. My condolences to all the family, he will be missed. Barry Dunlap Capt. American Airlines, {Ret}.

Dear Jane and family,
I know you can't imagine life without the wonderful man who was devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone who knew him. He will always be with you in your hearts and the thousands of special memories you will share in the coming years. We will remember him for his kindness, his love for his family and friends, and his wonderful sense of humor. We share in your sorrow and are comforted by knowing we also have many memories to treasure.
In Sympathy,
Larry and Sue Wilson

We were deeply saddened to learn of Doug's passing. Although too few, we had some wonderful times together. He was wonderful to work with and always a true gentlemen.

It was my honor to serve with Doug at McGuire AFB for several years. He was the very model of "an officer and a gentleman". He led by example, often in very difficult circumstances. He was dedicated to our mission, yet he never let the mission get in the way when caring for his troops. All those with whom he served are left with the fondest of memories.
And a great guy on the golf course, as well!

Jane, my thoughts are with you and your family. I have so many wonderful memories of the times we spent together over the years. Doug was truly one of the funniest, energetic men I have ever known. I know the past six years have been a very long goodbye - I pray that you will soon be able to focus on the many joyful times you had together.

Hey Cole Family, I am so sorry to hear about Doug. He will be missed by many, many people. You know what he and your family have meant to all of us. Jane, I know it has been a rough road, but God has a special place in his heart for those who have endured and been caretakers here on earth. Unfortunately my wife and I are away through the weekend, so we won't be at the funeral, but our love and prayers for your entire family will be there in our place, Chip and Nancy Candy

Jane - We are saddened by the news of Doug's passing, and are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We reflected this evening on how we first met in the library at Randolph AFB, and we talked about the six and a half years we spent together at Willy and McGuire. Wonderful, fun-filled years full of laughter and special friendship. All our love to you and your lovely family, and our prayers for peace and comfort. God bless you.

Jane and family, we are so saddened to learn of Doug's passing. I can still see him walking the halls of Cranberry Pines School as I worked there for many years. Christopher and my son, Justin, also attended school together and were on some LYAA (now MYAA) teams together. Doug was always there cheering them on. His legacy of commitment to his family and friends will always live on. Prayers for peace and comfort at this difficult time are sent to all of you. Treasure the memories.
