Gemma, Ashley and Emily,

I was so saddened to hear of Ernie's passing, he was way to young.

We all had lots of good times on Lake Hopatcong. We used to laugh floating on the boats/rafts with a beer in the cupholder as he always used to say "I wonder what the poor people are doing today?"

Very sorry for your loss. RIP Ernie.

Dear Ron & family & friends.
Though I never met Ernie I've only heard nice things about him. Sounded like he was a really great guy and brother and father. Over the years you often had a fun and upbeat story about him to share. I was stunned at this sudden loss! And my heart aches when I think of it. I hope that your good friends and strong faith in God can carry you into the future with understanding and sweet memories. He was lucky to have had you as a brother too! I hope he's resting in PEACE now.

Psalm 23:4 "Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way." Knowing that death is part of our lives doesn't make the loss of our loved ones any easier. The more you love the person, the more it hurts. Ernie was genuine, filled with gentleness, kindness and love. I know without him your lives will never be the same. It is because of Jesus' promises/Word that we can be certain He will help us through our heartbreaking grief and be comforted knowing we will be with Ernie again for eternity.

Ernest, I have always know him as "Ernie" is my cousin on my Mothers side, Thelma Emily Gardner Ray. I have not seen Ernie since we were kids, but I have thought of him often over the years.. I know from his brother, Ron Fillmore that he was a wonderful Husband and Father. He is with his Mom and Dad, Uncle Ern and Aunt Winnie now, so he is certainly blessed.. I will never forget the evening in Tucson at FSA when Ernie was explaining the "Butter Wizard". We laughed so hard we were crying. The look on his face, "Priceless" when he found out we were joking with him.
No matter what stage of life you are in, loss of a loved one leaves a gaping hole and the only healing is time. May God bring your healing time swiftly.
