Isobel was my much appreciated Townewatch partner in Leisuretowne.
We enjoyed many hours of driving aorund the community and chatting away, munching on her fabulous brownies ! Isobel was kind enough to knit a few items for my newborn grandaughters. Isobel's love of learning and busy volunteer life was an inspiration to me. I will miss her and am glad that she is no longer in pain and at rest.
My sympathy to her much loved children and grandchildren.

Isobel and I became friends while we were in our church's Joy Group.
It was easy to be her friend, she has a sunny disposition, great sense of humor, and loving heart that enable our friendship to blossom.
When I think about Isobel, I think of a beautiful rose who sweet scent draws you closer. It reminds me of a poem that I would like to share entitled,
"The Rose Beyond the Wall"

A rose once grew where all could see, sheltered beside a garden wall.
And, as the days passed swiftly by, it spread its branches, straight and tall....

One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide,
The rose bent gently toward its warmth, then passed beyond to the other side...

Now, you who deeply feel its loss, be comforted- the rose blooms there -
Its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's own loving care.

We love and miss Isobel and someday we will be with you and our Lord in heaven.

Message from Darlene Taylor and FAC Food Pantry Volunteers
August 25, 2015 7:18 PM

Meeting Isobel for the first time, we were taken by her enthusiasm and willingness to serve at the Food Pantry. After all, she was in her mid-80's!

She was a colorful character, a woman of God who fought the fight, served Him well and loved each one of us. We saw a woman with quiet inner strength, gained through her many life trials, a woman who, in serving, gave her life more meaning.

She really did not talk about herself much, but every now and then we would get a small glimpse into her life, in which she endured many hardships: losing children, a husband, illness. She shared her wisdom with us and always encouraged us.

Weekly she would bake some wonderful goodie for the volunteers. She was a cheery soul, a snazzy dresser, with a sense of humor. Even while going through her illness she was hopeful, then eventually just trusted the Lord with whatever outcome He planned for her.

Each of us feel it was a privilege to know her and serve with her. She was quite an example to us. We miss her........until we meet again.
