Just yesterday 9/17/17, I learned that Jared died in August. My son Joe and I were at Medford Cedar to pick up some wood for a project, and were stunned to hear of Jared's death. When Jared was a teenager, he dated my daughter, and was a regular presence in our house. Jared was one of those rare teens who was always the good guy, I mean not only when a parent or boss or teacher was watching, he was kind, honest to a fault and had a big heart. My son was several years younger than my daughter and Jared, but Jared treated Joe like a kind big brother, not like a pesky young brother of his girlfriend. Joe has always remembered that. He has run into Jared several times over the years, and remarked to me they were always pleasant encounters, Joe is a carpenter by hobby, not by trade, and has discovered Jared again when he went to buy wood from Medford Cedar several times in the past months, the last time in August. They had a great get together, as usual. I was looking forward to seeing Jared again after 27 or 30 years. He used to make home make Kalua, (sp?) my favorite adult beverage at the time. I was going to tease him about that. I am so sorry I didn't have the chance. As my sailor husband would say "Fair winds and a following sea, Jared, wherever your travels have taken you."

We just learned of Jared's passing and we are absolutely at a loss. Jared had a huge heart, he was someone we could always count on when we worked for us at Ahern Rentals. Jared became one of our dearest friends. He will be sadly missed, I will miss the way he constantly teased me about my singing or how clumsy I am, or the way he laughed so hard when he had me try one of his "special peppers". Rest in peace Jared and know that one day we will meet again and this time I'll bring one of my peppers! Love and miss you xoxoxo

We are so saddened to learn that Jared is no longer with us. Jared has been an important part of our family for many years now. His generosity and concern for others often made burdens others carried easier to bear. We are here for your family at this time to try and help ease your burden of this loss. We loved hearing about the newest restaurant he found, the newest method to cook venison he discovered, and the newest project he was working on. He will be missed and remembered by all of us. With love and sympathy, Ken and Cathy Wishart

I Give You This One Thought
I give you this one thought to keep I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still - in each new dawn.
My Prayers are will you.

J-rod was my first employer, and a great lifelong friend. I always loved being around him, par of his family, and I could listen to his stories for days. I will miss him dearly. He was a father figure to me while growing up and I'll never be able to replace the lessons he taught me. I am so sorry for your loss.

We were all blessed to know Jared.....we witnessed his many acts of kindness for his friends…even the ones he had just met. He was a unique individual who was always the first to laugh! That laugh, among countless other attributes, will be forever missed. We offer our deepest sympathies to his family. How do we express our heartfelt sadness for the sudden passing of our very unique friend. We first met Jared watering his cherished basil plants at a garden he planted at La Campagnola, many years ago. Over the past twenty years we have become true friends seeing each other weekly at Red Lion and La Camp. Jared would always share his rare and unique basil, peppers, and garden vegetables with all of us. Jared would also tell us about his journeys transporting cedar, his family, recipes, and his life in general. Jared was a man who lived life the way he wanted, but never hesitated to reach out or comfort a friend he knew or suspected was in need. God Bless You our friend, we will miss you xoxoxo Colleen and Darren
